It is used in the welding of metals with "hard" welding (e.g. brazing) (Brazing) or with "soft" gluing (e.g. tin soldering) (Soldering) etc. They need 5 with 10 sec to weld. MAP//Pro-Max gas is more efficient and transfers temperature faster than Propane.
